The Senteos are truly a remarkable innovation in teaching. The possibilities are endless. The students have already begun learning how to use them in computer class, so teaching procedures in the classroom should be easier (but not easy). Here is a link to some general procedures that I use in my classroom; http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=rWIu7hd-Xv4oU17if_MHa5Q This is a working document in Google Docs so that everyone may share and comment on them. Hopefully we can create a consensus on how the Senteos should be used. This will ensure their longevity, and that student will not need to be retaught how to use them every year. There is also a Check-Out calendar specifically for the Senteo units; http://freecal.brownbearsw.com/senteocheck They are encased in a durable, foam lined bag, so there should be no problem with students retrieving the Senteo package. These are another piece of technology that easily integrates into what you are already doing, so give them a try.
